Your therapist asks about your health history and what is bothering you, does a short assessment, then treats. You do not need to prepare anything except your insurance or ICBC details.
Wear whatever is comfortable to get to the clinic. During treatment you undress to your comfort level and stay covered by a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed. Your therapist steps out while you get ready.
Only as much as you are comfortable with. Massage can be adapted to work over clothing if you prefer. Your comfort comes first, always.
It depends on why you are coming. For a specific injury or chronic pain, more often at first and then tapering off usually works. For general stress and maintenance, whatever fits your life. Your therapist will suggest a realistic rhythm.
Deep work can feel intense where a muscle is tight, but it should stay in the range of good discomfort, not pain you are bracing against. Tell your therapist and they adjust the pressure. Relaxation and prenatal sessions are gentle by design.
After deeper work you may feel a little tender for a day, similar to after exercise. Drinking water and moving gently helps. Lighter treatments usually leave no soreness.
Developer note: answer honestly based on your two therapists. Many patients search for a specific preference, so state clearly who is available.
